Cue Audemars Piguet’s first 2025 releases. For the big 1-5-0, the brand drops Calibre 7138 – a new generation of its selfwinding perpetual calendar movement.
“The Calibre 7138 is a game-changer [because] it makes the most complicated aspects of a perpetual calendar much easier. I.e. changing the date, month, moon phase, and all those little functions,” says Liu. “Typically these high quality replica watches have tiny, hidden pushers on the case to adjust everything, which means that when you forget your special AP-branded pin adjuster at home, you’re left trying to find something like a wooden toothpick in a restaurant to push those little buttons.”
Now, collectors can forget about any such awkwardness: “With the Calibre 7138, everything can be adjusted using the crown. No more taking the best copy watches CA off and fiddling with a toothpick. It’s incredibly intuitive. You can change the date and time just by using the crown, which, while small, makes the perpetual calendar so much more practical. As a smitten Brechtel adds, “to be the owner of a cal. 5135 Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar openworked would be something special, this really is a major achievement. Wow, mamma mia.”
